Centric was founded over 28 years ago by Rick Bastinelli, President of Centric Business Systems, as a small startup in the Greater Baltimore Marketplace. Today, with its 250 employees, Centric is the largest, most successful independently owned dealership in the Mid-Atlantic Region, stretching from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Richmond, Virginia.
Core to Centric’s growth strategy, is to provide a consultative sales approach that ensures to map out every single output device and to understand how and why it’s being used today. As a part of the proposed solution, Centric will look to potentially replace, refresh, eliminate, and identify locations for new strategically placed devices to increase client satisfaction, productivity, and lower cost. In many cases, Centric also increases the clients’ capabilities of its solution by combining hardware and software elements together.
“We want to understand how our clients are doing business today, so we can work with them to put together an optimum solution,” explains Justen Peeling, Manager of Centric’s Managed Print Services team.
After the client onboarding process concludes, Centric conducts quarterly business reviews to measure the ROI and to ensure that the solution is functioning optimally. If there are any opportunities for improvement, the sales team proactively addresses them before they become a more significant challenge. Centric also conducts ongoing training programs for customers, this can be to learn how to use the equipment or to learn best practices on where and how to print more efficiently. This entire after-sales process has helped Centric have a retention rate of 98.8 percent, something that is unheard of in the MPS industry.
Centric is continuing to expand into new marketplaces in the U.S. It plans to double its current workforce of 250 employees in the next five years. Most of the company’s growth had been organic; that, coupled with strategically complemented acquisitions and geographic expansion has Centric primed for a very bright future.
